There is support for you, whenever you feel ready to access it.

Many people don’t know that there is support available for them or how to go about accessing it. Many victims of sexual violence report feeling shame and guilt, they tell us this is a barrier to coming forward for the information, advice and assistance they deserve to help them move on in their lives.

We’re on a mission to end this and to help people receive the support they need, when they need it.

At Northamptonshire Rape Crisis, we provide confidential support, advice and counselling to survivors of rape and child sexual abuse. Our services are available to you whether the incident happened recently, or many years ago. We can offer information and advice through our Independent Sexual Violence Counsellor (ISVA) about the options that are available to you if you are considering reporting to the Police. We also offer wider advocacy and emotional support through our ISVA, for example with housing, benefits, or education.

However, if you’re not ready to talk with someone at NRC, there’s a wealth of online content to which you can turn.

For some, a visit to our website is often the first time they’ve looked to access a support network that deals specifically with rape and childhood sexual abuse. If that’s the case, we also recommend visiting the national umbrella organisation of Rape Crisis England and Wales which will provide you with further information.
